The human body is made up of mostly microbes, and all the microbes that live in the human body are called the microbiome. Disruptions in the balance of the microbiome can increase the risk of infection in the endometrium (lining of the uterus).
Endometrial Microbiome Metagenomic Analysis (EMMA) is a test that analyzes the balance of the microbiome in the endometrium to help identify abnormalities that are associated with poor reproductive conditions. It shows the balance of the endometrial microbiome, providing information on the proportions of all endometrial bacteria, including those that increase pregnancy.
